BOW HUNTING

For those who have a passion for bowhunting we have the perfect solution for you. Our five day bow hunts are located in the heart of the greatest antelope population in the country. We have low yearly precipitation and warm fall temperatures- the perfect combination for great archery antelope hunting. Antelope tend to use open areas with little cover, usually not too far from a water source; making our location great antelope habitat. We hunt from blinds that are permanent structures. The antelope see them year round and are accustomed to them being at their watering holes. We have even had antelope and deer lay in the shade of these blinds while hunters were in them! These blinds will be either on the ground or elevated. They are spacious and comfortable, as you will be spending a lot of time in them. Each blind is strategically placed over watering holes which the antelope frequently come in to drink from. It is not uncommon to see twenty bucks on a good warm day along with a large number of does.

All hunting takes place on our 40,000 acre ranch. We deliver you to your blind before dawn and check on you every couple of hours. We send you with a lunch as this is an all-day experience. At dusk we pick you up. When you do harvest your antelope we give you a “flag” that you put up to indicate that you were successful. Then we come in to your blind and help you with your animal. We generally have a 100% success rate on hunters harvesting their antelope, with 70% of our antelope harvested being P&Y.

Antelope are very unique animals. Antelope have a wide field of vision and have great eyesight, comparable to a seven power scope. They have a large windpipe, heart, and lungs that allow them to take in large amounts of air when running. Because of this and an extremely light bone structure, they can maintain speeds of 40 mph for several miles and can reach 60 mph in shorter runs. They are the fastest animal in North America. Pronghorn antelope grow to be 36 to 40 inches tall at the shoulder and range in weight from 75 to 130 pounds. They make a beautiful wall mount, with the contrast of their white and brown coats, coupled with their bright black horns. They are extremely unique animals.

Pronghorn hunting is something every bow hunter should experience; it is a challenging but very attainable hunting goal.
